Q: Notability 1.02 includes iTunes File Sharing, what is it? A: When you connect your iPad to your computer via USB cable, you can export Notability sessions to iTunes, likewise you can import sessions back onto your iPad. Notability sessions on your computer can be viewed in a browser and also shared via email or iDisk. The recipient can also view sessions on their computer. Instructions for import, export and viewing sessions on your computer are included in Help in the app.
Q: How do I share sessions? A:Simply attach the notability.zip file to an email. To view the session, the recipient unzips the file, and double-clicks on the file named NotabilityViewer.html. This will open the session in a browser. The recipient can also import the notability.zip file onto their iPad via iTunes File Sharing. For larger sessions that may include a recording, upload the notability.zip file to iDisk, announce it’s availability to those you want to share with, and they will receive an email with a link to download the Notability session.
Q: How do I export my sessions? A: Sessions can be published by opening the session and tapping the Publish Session button. The open session will now be available on your local wireless network at the address indicated. The session can also be found using Bonjour Bookmarks with Safari. Note, recordings are not published.
Q: How do I view Bonjour Bookmarks in Safari? A: In Safari on a desktop or laptop, go to Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks, then select "Bonjour" from the "Collections" list on the left. A list of Bonjour Bookmarks available on your network will appear in the main window. Double click a bookmark to open it.
Q: How do I name a session? A: If the session is open, tap on its name at the top of the screen. From the library view, select the session by tapping on its name, then tap the name again to make it editable. The same method can be used to edit tags.
Q: Why can't I give multiple sessions the same name? A: Session names will be used for exporting in the future, so to limit confusion, multiple sessions cannot be named the same thing. Consider enumerating sessions (ie. Lecture 1, Lecture 2) as an alternative.
